I specialize in nonfiction, helping people tell their life stories through memoir, whether for publication or therapy or to pass along to future generations. I also work as a fiction and poetry editor as well as a ghostwriter. I’ve published nonfiction, fiction, and poetry in top literary journals like the North American Review, River Teeth, and Gulf Coast. My book, Whip & Spur, was published by Gold Line Press after winning their fiction award.   

For more than twenty years I have taught writing and literature at colleges around the country and world including the University of Alaska, Ohio University, the American University of Beirut, and Colorado State University in Pueblo, where I was Head of Creative Writing.
